BLINDMAN – Japanese Hard Rock / Alternative Rock Band
Formed in 1995, centered around guitarist Tatsuya Nakamura. The band’s name is said to derive from a colloquial term for the special duty of the Secret Service, which provides protection for high-ranking officials in Europe and the United States (as this information dates back to the band’s formation, its accuracy in current online databases is unknown).
1998–2000: Released three studio albums—*Sensitive Pictures*, *Being Human*, and *Live, Living, Alive!!* (a live album)—as well as one live album on CASTLE RECORDS
2001–2003: Made their major-label debut on KING RECORDS. Released two studio albums, *BLINDMAN* and *Turning Back*, as well as the greatest hits album *Soul Talks, Melodies Walk*, before disbanding
2005–2014: Announced the resumption of activities following a lineup change. Released five studio albums—*Pain for the Pleasure*, *Road to the Pleasure* (live DVD) “Subconscious In Xperience,” “Re-rise,” “BLAZING CRISIS,” and “EVERGREEN” (a re-recorded greatest hits album)—a total of five studio albums and one live DVD.
2016–2023: With Ray on vocals and Shun Jitsunari on drums joining the lineup, the band released “TO THE LIGHT,” “LIVE…in the Dark to the Light” (live album), “Reach For The Sky,” “EXPANSION,” and “OUTBURST” (EP) via Walküre Records.
2024: Hitoshi Endo (Key.), a founding member, announced a surprise return after a 26-year hiatus, reuniting three original members: Tatsuya Nakamura (Gt.), Tatsuya Toda (Ba.), and Hitoshi Endo (Key.).
2025: Marking their 30th anniversary, the band released their 12th studio album, “After Rain,” with the lineup of Guitarist Tatsuya Nakamura, Vocalist Ray, Bassist Tatsuya Toda, Keyboardist Hitoshi Endo, and Drummer Shun Jitsunari.
